Strong growth trend: 4,444 new companies founded in October 2024 in the Swiss commercial register

New registrations
In October 2024, a total of 4,444 new companies were founded - a remarkable increase of 13% compared to the previous month with 3,951 new companies. This positive trend continues compared to the previous year, with an annual increase of 5% in new registrations. This development underlines the confidence in the Swiss market and shows the continuously growing dynamism of the domestic economy.

Deletions
In October 2024, a total of 2,693 company deletions were registered, which corresponds to an increase of 14% compared to the previous month. The number of deletions has also increased slightly year-on-year and is 6% higher than in October 2023. This development could indicate growing market consolidation and structural adjustments in the Swiss economy.

Mutations
The number of company mutations also increased in October: a total of 18,996 mutations were registered, which corresponds to an increase of 15% compared to the previous month. Year-on-year, there is also an increase of 9%. At the same time, the number of companies that ceased their business activities in October increased by 15% - a total of 2,022 companies applied for liquidation.

Principality of Liechtenstein
Liechtenstein also recorded an increase in new registrations in October 2024: With 65 newly registered companies, this represents an increase of 41% compared to the previous month. At the same time, the number of deletions increased to 102 companies that were removed from the commercial register. The number of mutations also increased, with a total of 1,319 changes reported - an increase of 31% compared to the previous month.
