Encouraging growth: start-ups in Switzerland increase by 1.2 percent in July 2023 compared to the previous year

In July 2023, 4,272 new companies were founded, a decrease of 14% compared to the previous month. Nevertheless, the number of new registrations increased by 1.2% compared to the previous year. Although the decline can be observed over the last month, the overall comparison points to a continued solid and growing economy in Switzerland.



Deletions
2,602 deletions were recorded in July, down 19% month-on-month and down 1.5% year-on-year. These figures again underscore the stability of the current economic climate as companies remain active and sustain their operations despite the challenges.

Mutations
To date, 17,144 mutations have been registered, which corresponds to a minimal decrease of only 0.6% compared to the previous month and a remarkable increase of 4.7% compared to the previous year. The almost unchanged number of mutations compared to the previous month shows remarkable stability and continuity.

Principality of Liechtenstein
In July 2023, 78 new registrations were registered in the Principality of Liechtenstein, which corresponds to a decrease of 22% compared to the previous month. The number of deletions has also fallen, with 67 deletions recorded, down 8% compared to the previous month. Mutations also decreased in the same month, with 953 mutations registered, a 13% decrease compared to the previous month.
